STATE TIMES NEWS NEW DELHI: Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament Lok Sabha, Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency raised his voice in the Parliament at New Delhi demanding tourism development projects in District Rajouri. Jugal said that district Rajouri has very beautiful lakes in natures’ lap from the ancient times and people of surrounding areas visit the lakes since Mahabharata times. “These lakes also have a religious importance but were neglected from development point of view,” he said, urging that the concerned project had already been forwarded by the State Government by the name of Shakarmarg-7 Lakes Project & Development of Ganga Ghat at Sunderbani in District Rajouri. These places should be developed to enhance tourism so that people from nationwide can visit the same, he added. Jugal said that development of these projects will increase in tourism footfall in Rajouri besides providing employment opportunities to local people. Prahlad Singh Patel, the Union Minister of State for Tourism assured Jugal that he will take up these projects for further consideration.
