JAMMU: Jammu Municipal Corporation on Monday sealed two premises in Channi Himmat in violation of J and K Control of Building Operation Act, 1988 and also demolished six Jhuggis causing inconvenience to the residents of locality.
While intensifying drive vigorously against the unauthorised construction, the Enforcement Staff led by the Chief Enforcement Officer of JMC, under the guidance of Soujanya Kumar Sharma, Commissioner JMC, sealed two premises situated on Plot No. 91 Sector No. 1-A and Plot No. 85 Sector No. 2 Channi Himmat Jammu for raising the constructions without seeking the valid permission from JMC as required under the norms. The action of sealing the premises has been taken under Section 8 (1) of J and K Control of Building Operation Act, 1988.
Apart from this, the team also demolished the ongoing unauthorised construction of six Jhuggis which were being raised in open plot in Sector C, Sainik Colony, Jammu, causing inconvenience to the residents of locality.
The sealing of the premises was conducted with the help of police force from Police Station Channi Himmat, Jammu and from District Police Lines, Jammu.
The Municipal Corporation appealed to the general public to refrain from making encroachments and unauthorised constructions otherwise action as admissible under rule leading to demolition or sealing will be taken.
