STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: In view of prevailing situation arisen due to outbreak of COVID-19, the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), besides undertaking sanitation spray and fumigation drives, also took steps to provide dry ration among needy and downtrodden persons living in slum areas within JMC limits. As per the survey conducted by Municipal Corporation in recent past, eleven such locations were identified out of which three locations viz Panjtirthi Dounthali towards Circular Road, Bawa Basti Dogra Hall and Kabir Colony Dogra Hall were covered on Sunday and about 300 kits of dry ration comprising essential commodities like wheat flour 5 Kg, Rice 5 Kg, Dal 1 Kg, Sugar 1 Kg, edible oil 1 Lt, Salt 1 Kg, Onion 2 Kg, and Potatoes 2 Kg have been provided to each family living there. The other locations shall also be covered in future for distribution of dry ration kits within limits of JMC. The said distribution of ration was personally monitored by Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Avny Lavasa along with Secretary JMC Tinna Mahajan, Deputy Director Planning Sandeep Sharma, Chief Enforcement Officer Rajesh Gupta, Enforcement Officer Kamni Kesar, Revenue Officer Sunil Kumar and Sanitation Officer Rajinder Kumar and subordinate staff of JMC.
