JAMMU: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) in a meeting held at Jammu has condemned UT Govt for its deliberate attempt to discriminate DPs of 1947 from PoK during third phase of Back to Village programme. The participants termed the programme as shameful act which was organised to benefit a particular category of migrants, while rest, particularly DPs, have been ignored.Expressing profound grief over the deliberate attempt of UT Govt, President JKSAC Gurdev Singh along with Netar Parkash, Dwarka Nath Khajuria, Santosh Kumar, Satpal (Naib-Sarpanch), Avtar Singh (Sarpanch), Onkar Singh (Sarpanch) and Kanta Sharma (Sarpanch) criticized the Govt for making false assertion/commitments to carry forward welfare and equitable holistic development programme for all sections of societies in UT of J&K. He said that during the third phase of back to village programme the truth has come out of the bag regarding the aforesaid commitment/assertions, when Govt setup 114 special camps at 20 different locations for providing on spot-benefits of over 17 centrally sponsored welfare schemes only to a particular category of migrants leaving aside general public and DPs of 1947 from PoK in particular. He further said that such special camps were setup as per directions of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, so that needy and deserving people could get themselves registered under these centrally sponsored schemes to avail benefits of schemes, as disclosed by Simrandeep Singh, Secy DMRRR through a press release. While expressing concern about the Govt release, Gurdev Singh said that administration is fully exposed and one can imagine and can take lead from the said disclosure of the Government that show was managed to provide exceptional benefit to one particular category of society, which is evident from the fact that beneficiaries were registered on spot, cases were approved/sanctioned and paid in cash on spot through counter of various banks.Gurdev Singh sought personal intervention of LG Manoj Sinha in the matter to end discrimination as DPs of 1947 from PoK are worst sufferers and most discriminated section of society, still waiting for rehabilitation even after passage of seven decades.
