STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters Association (JKFFA) organised a function on Friday to pay tributes to Brig Usman on his martyrdom day, which was attended by a number of members. Col (Retired) S S Pathania was the Chief Guest on the occasion while Sudhir Jasrotia (Retired IGP) was the Guest of Honour. Terming Brig Usman as ‘Saviour of Nowshera’, Pathania highlighted gallantry and heroic contributions of Brig Usman. The Saviour of Nowshera will be remembered by generations to come for his extraordinary valour and patriotism, he added. Jasrotia also spoke about contributions of Brig Usman for the safety of Motherland. Born at Azamgarh, Brig Usman got training from UK Royal Military Academy and served Indian army till his last breath. He even rejected offer of Chief of Pakistani Army Staff. Others who spoke on the occasion included Ved Gandotra, Rajeev Mahajan, Ravinder Mittal, Brij Mehra, Karnail Chand, Prof R P Sharma, Prof S S Balwal, Prabhat Kapahi and Pritam Sharma.
