State Times NewsJAMMU: The Jammu & Kashmir Agriculture Technocrats Association (JKATA) convened a meeting on Wednesday under leadership of its President Dr Surinder Radotra to pay tributes to a senior officer of Agriculture Department who passed away due to COVID-19. A number of members of the JKATA along with members of other agriculture associations were present on the occasion. On the occasion, the participants paid tributes to great soul and conveyed sympathy with the bereaved family. The participants urged Lieutenant Governor G C Murmu, Chief Secretary B V R Subrahmanyum and Principal Secretary Agriculture Production Department Navin K Chowdhary to compensate bereaved family by paying minimum Rs 50 lakh as the deceased officer was quite young and had more than a decade of service. The members further demanded providing employment to the next of kin of deceased as an immediate relief. The members further requested the higher authorities to provide insurance of Rs 50 lakh to employees along with necessary protective equipments like masks and PPEs, for performing duties more effectively during ongoing crisis.
