STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir on Monday recorded 427 fresh cases, while nine deaths took place in the past 24 hours, taking the number of cases to 88,369 and death toll to 1,388, officials said.Out of the fresh cases, 169 are from Jammu and 258 from the Kashmir valley, the officials said.Jammu district reported the highest number of 116 new cases, followed by 112 in Srinagar district, the officials said.
Leh: Sixty-four people tested positive for coronavirus in Ladakh, taking the virus caseload in the Union Territory to 5,598, officials said on Monday.With 80 more patients recovered from the disease during the past 24 hours, the active cases in the region dropped to 917 755 in Leh district and 162 in Kargil district, the officials said. Ladakh had recorded a total of 66 COVID-related deaths, while 4615 infected people have been cured since the outbreak of the disease in March.Of the new cases, 62 persons tested positive in Leh and two others in Kargil, the officials said adding 73 patients were discharged in Leh and seven others in Kargil after treatment.
There are 8,314 active cases of coronavirus disease (COVD-19), while 78,667 patients have recovered so far, they said.Meanwhile, nine deaths took place in the past 24 hours in J&K — three in Jammu region and six in the valley — taking the death toll to 1,388, the officials said.
