STATE TIMES NEWSSrinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported 14 more COVID-19 deaths on Monday, taking their number to 1,146 as 824 new cases pushed the Union territory’s infection tally to 73,014.This is the first time in 26 days that the single-day spike of new cases in the UT is less than 1,000.“The UT recorded 824 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours — with 540 in Jammu and 284 in the Kashmir Valley,” an official said.The cumulative figure of confirmed cases in Jammu and Kashmir has now risen to 73,014.Jammu district reported the highest number of 337 new cases, followed by 105 in Srinagar district, officials said.There are 17,601 active cases of the disease in the Union territory currently, while 54,267 patients have recovered so far, they said.Of the 14 fresh fatalities reported, 11 were in Jammu and three in the Valley, the officials said.According to the daily Media Bulletin, out of 73,014 positive cases, 17,601 are Active Positive, 54,267 have recovered and 1,146 have died; 320 in Jammu division and 826 in Kashmir division.The Bulletin further said that out of 1581606 test results available, 15,08,592 samples have been tested as negative till September 28, 2020.Till date 5,70,333 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 15,721 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 17,601 in isolation and 51,373 under home surveillance. Besides, 4,84,492 persons have completed their surveillance period.Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 14,490 positive cases (including 105 cases reported today) with 2,105 Active Positive, 12,098 recovered (including 175 cases recovered today), 287 deaths; Baramulla has 4,273 positive cases (including 26 cases reported today) with 1,235 Active Positive, 2,916 recovered (including 30 cases recovered today), 122 deaths; Pulwama reported 3,885 positive cases (including 33 cases reported today) with 451 active positive cases, 3,366 recovered (including 42 cases recovered today), 68 deaths; Kulgam has 2,253 positive cases (including 01 case reported today) with 130 Active Positive, 2,080 recoveries (including 8 cases recovered today), 43 deaths; Shopian has 2,021 positive cases (including 8 cases reported today) with 198 Active Positive, 1,791 recovered (including 2 cases reported today), 32 deaths; Anantnag district has 3,492 positive cases (including 18 cases reported today) with 441 Active Positive, 2,989 recovered (including 28 cases recovered today), 62 deaths; Budgam has 4,791 positive cases (including 27 cases reported today) with 1,045 Active Positive and 3,665 recovered (including 98 cases recovered today), 81 deaths; Kupwara has 3,539 positive cases (including 44 cases reported today) with 813 Active Positive, 2,660 recovered (including 27 cases recovered today), 66 deaths; Bandipora has 3,363 positive cases (including 9 cases reported today) with 563 Active Positive, 2,763 recovered (including 118 cases recovered today), 37 deaths and Ganderbal has 2,844 positive cases (including 13 cases reported today) with 459 active positive cases, 2,357 recoveries (including 49 cases recovered today) and 28 deaths.Similarly, Jammu has 12,349 positive cases (including 337 cases reported today) with 3,578 active positive cases, 8,597 recoveries (including 530 cases recovered today), 174 deaths; Rajouri has 2,565 positive cases (including 52 cases reported today) with 1,268 active positive cases, 1,267 recovered (including 40 cases recovered today), 30 deaths; Ramban has 1,295 positive cases (including 1 case reported today) with 456 active positive, 830 recoveries (including 3 cases recovered today), 9 deaths; Kathua has 2,022 positive cases (including 37 cases reported today) with 538 Active positive, 1,463 recovered (including 76 cases recovered today), 21 deaths; Udhampur has 2,163 positive cases (including 38 cases reported today) with 484 active positive cases, 1,664 recovered (including 7 cases recovered today), 15 deaths; Samba has 1,694 positive cases (including 29 cases reported today) with 805 Active Positive, 869 recoveries, 20 deaths; Doda has 2,159 positive cases (including 11 cases reported today) with 1,119 active positive cases, 1,013 recoveries (including 79 cases recovered today), 27 deaths; Poonch has 1,726 positive cases (including 10 cases reported today) with 974 active positive, 740 recoveries (including 48 cases reported today), 12 deaths; Reasi has 930 positive cases (including 14 cases reported today) with 379 active positive, 546 recoveries (including 14 cases reported today), and 5 deaths while Kishtwar has 1,160 positive cases (including 11 cases reported today) with 560 active positive cases and 593 recoveries (including 34 cases reported today) and 7 deaths.According to the bulletin, of the total 73,014 positive cases in J&K, 8,697 have been reported as travelers while 64,317 as others.
