STATE TIMES NEWSSrinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 1,104 fresh coronavirus cases and 22 deaths in the past 24 hours, taking the total infection tally to 68,614 and death toll to 1,084, officials said on Thursday.The UT recorded 1,104 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours — with 624 in Jammu and 480 in the Kashmir valley,” the officials said.It was for the 22nd consecutive day that the number of fresh cases have crossed 1,000 in a 24-hour period.
New Delhi: India’s COVID-19 caseload breached the 57-lakh mark, while over 46 lakh people have recovered from the disease, pushing the national recovery rate to 81.55 per cent, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday.The total coronavirus cases mounted to 57,32,518 with 86,508 people testing positive in a day. The death toll climbed to 91,149 with 1,129 people succumbing to the disease in a span of 24 hours, the data updated at 8 am showed.The total recoveries surged to 46,74,987 in the country so far.The COVID-19 case fatality rate due to the coronavirus infection was recorded at 1.59 per cent.There are 9,66,382 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country which comprises 16.86 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and and it went past 50 lakh on September 16.According to the ICMR, a cumulative total of 6,74,36,031 samples have been tested up to September 23 with 11,56,569 samples being tested on Wednesday.The 1,129 new deaths include 479 from Maharashtra, 87 from Uttar Pradesh, 64 from Punjab, 63 from Tamil Nadu, 61 from West Bengal, 45 from Andhra Pradesh, 42 from Madhya Pradesh, 38 from Karnataka and 36 from Delhi.A total of 91,149 deaths have been reported so far in the country including 33,886 from Maharashtra followed by 9,010 from Tamil Nadu, 8,266 from Karnataka, 5,506 from Andhra Pradesh, 5,299 from Uttar Pradesh, 5,087 from Delhi, 4,544 from West Bengal, 3,367 from Gujarat, 2,990 from Punjab and 2,077 from Madhya Pradesh.The health ministry stressed that more than 70 per cent of the deaths occurred due to comorbidities.“Our figures are being reconciled with the Indian Council of Medical Research,” the ministry said on its website, adding that state-wise distribution of figures is subject to further verification and reconciliation.
The cumulative figure of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir has now risen to 68,614. Jammu district reported the highest number of 242 new cases, followed by 194 in Srinagar district, the officials said.There are 19,451 active cases of coronavirus disease, while 48,079 patients have recovered so far, they said.Meanwhile, 22 deaths took place in the past 24 hours with 14 in Jammu and eight in the valley, taking the death toll to 1,084, the officials said.Government on Thursday informed that 1,104 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 624 from Jammu division and 480 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 68,614. Also 22 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 14 from Jammu division and 8 from Kashmir Division.Moreover, 1,549 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 960 from Jammu Division and 589 from Kashmir Division.According to a daily Media, out of 68,614 positive cases, 19,451 are Active Positive, 48,079 have recovered and 1,084 have died; 283 in Jammu division and 801 in Kashmir division.The Bulletin further said that out of 14,87,962 test results available, 14,19,348 samples have been tested as negative till September 24, 2020.Till date 5,58,098 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation which included 15,800 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 19,451 in isolation and 54,586 under home surveillance. Besides, 4,67,177 persons have completed their surveillance period.Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 13,800 positive cases (including 194 cases reported today) with 2,122 Active Positive, 11,401 recovered (including 128 cases recovered today), 277 deaths; Baramulla has 4,105 positive cases (including 72 cases reported today) with 1,203 Active Positive, 2,781 recovered (including 83 cases recovered today), 121 deaths; Pulwama reported 3,708 positive cases (including 33 cases reported today) with 507 active positive cases, 3,137 recovered (including 52 cases recovered today), 64 deaths; Kulgam has 2,224 positive cases (including 11 cases reported today) with 137 Active Positive, 2,044 recoveries (including 21 cases recovered today), 43 deaths; Shopian has 1,970 positive cases (including 7 cases reported today) with 203 Active Positive, 1,737 recovered (including 4 cases reported today), 30 deaths; Anantnag district has 3,380 positive cases (including 24 cases reported today) with 412 Active Positive, 2,906 recovered (including 25 cases recovered today), 62 deaths; Budgam has 4,595 positive cases (including 49 cases reported today) with 1487 Active Positive and 3,028 recovered (including 149 cases recovered today), 80 deaths; Kupwara has 3,346 positive cases (including 42 cases reported today) with 826 Active Positive, 2,456 recovered (including 16 cases recovered today), 64 deaths; Bandipora has 3,274 positive cases (including 20 cases reported today) with 749 Active Positive, 2,491 recovered (including 64 cases recovered today), 34 deaths and Ganderbal has 2,740 positive cases (including 28 cases reported today) with 611 active positive cases, 2,103 recoveries (including 47 cases recovered today) and 26 deaths.Similarly, Jammu has 11,147 positive cases (including 242 cases reported today) with 4,618 active positive cases, 6,375 recoveries (including 637 cases recovered today), 154 deaths; Rajouri has 2,357 positive cases (including 49 cases reported today) with 1,320 active positive cases, 1,007 recovered (including 19 cases recovered today), 30 deaths; Ramban has 1,209 positive cases (including 38 cases reported today) with 423 active positive, 778 recoveries (including 12 cases recovered today), 8 deaths; Kathua has 1,854 positive cases (including 36 cases reported today) with 629 Active positive, 1,206 recovered (including 42 cases recovered today), 19 deaths; Udhampur has 1,988 positive cases (including 49 cases reported today) with 487 active positive cases, 1,491 recovered (including 100 cases recovered today), 10 deaths; Samba has 1,576 positive cases (including 37 cases reported today) with 831 Active Positive, 727 recoveries (including 39 cases recovered today), 18 deaths; Doda has 1,958 positive cases (including 54 cases reported today) with 1,220 active positive cases, 714 recoveries (including 55 cases recovered today), 24 deaths; Poonch has 1,555 positive cases (including 44 cases reported today) with 903 active positive, 643 recoveries (including 39 cases reported today), 9 deaths; Reasi has 831 positive cases (including 36 cases reported today) with 306 active positive, 520 recoveries and 5 deaths while Kishtwar has 997 positive cases (including 39 cases reported today) with 457 active positive cases and 534 recoveries (including 17 cases reported today) and 6 deaths.
