STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: The District Jammu Wushu Championship organised by Wushu Association of Jammu and Kashmir concluded, here on Saturday. During the valedictory function, SP South Vinay Sharma was the Chief Guest. The championship was declared open by Vijay Saraf, President of Wushu Association of Jammu and Kashmir. Over 400 players from different schools and clubs participated in the championship. Vinay Sharma applauded Wushu Association of J&K for making the sports prominent in the UT. He also distributed prizes among the winners. The overall championship trophy was lifted by Academy of Wushu whereas first runner-up trophy was bagged by GD Goenka School and second runner-up was JK Public School. Vinay Sharma also appreciated Asian medalist Surya Bhanu Partap Singh and Rajinder Singh. He wished best of luck to all the players in future and advised them to work hard. Aditya Veer Singh, Raghav Soni, Shubam Malhotra, Rajvir Bali and Goutam remained champion in different weight categories while Sanvi Gupta, Shreeyasi, Ruby and Priya emerged as champions in girls section. Shubam Malhotra was awarded as the best player of the tournament.
