STATE TIMES NEWSNOWSHERA : All Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Professionals Forum (JKTPF) held an online meeting and discussed that Travel, Tourism and Hotel Management was introduced as an optional (5th ) subject at higher secondary level in 2008-09 but students opting for it find themselves complaining that the subject is not being made functional properly. This subject has a tremendous scope and is being taught in almost all universities, colleges, polytechnics, ITI’s and even in Govt schools as a vocational subject at secondary level but a large number of students who passes their secondary school examination with Tourism as a vocational subject find it difficult when the same subject is not taught at higher secondary level. Forum appealed to the Government to introduce Travel, Tourism and hotel Management as a compulsory subject at higher secondary level on priority and immediate creation of posts of Lecturers in corresponding subject.Among those who attended the meeting were Manoj Kumar, President, Gagan Pratap Singh,Gen Secretary, Sohail khan,kulvinder Singh, Sanjeev Sharma, Arshad Hussain, Pooja Sharma,Amzad Hussain,palvi Gupta, Gurdeep Singh and others.
