J&K supports the real promoters of volleyball: Magotra
Sports Reporter JAMMU: Clearing all doubts, the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) and Asian Volleyball Confederation (AFC) as also the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on Thursday conveyed to those associated with the game that Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) led by S Vasudevan as President and Ramavtar Singh Jakhar as Secretary General was the real body in India. Executive Vice President of AVC and FIVB, Essa Hamza and Secretary General of IOA, Rajeev Mehta shared the dais with the office bearers of the VFI at the inaugural of the 67th Senior National Volleyball (men and women) Championship at SDAT Multipurpose Indoor Stadium, Chennai as Special Guests. Speaking to the gathering, Chief Guest, Rajeev Mehta appreciated the working of VFI and its office bearers and also mentioned that there was no dispute left and the body works efficiently under Vasudevan as President and Ramavtar Singh Jakhar as Secretary General, reports reaching here said. He also informed that IOA gives full support to VFI to bring laurels for the country at the international level. He also thanked Essa Hamza, Executive Vice-President of FIVB and AVC for having attended this inaugural function of the National Championship. Earlier, Essa Hamza addressed the Executive Committee members of VFI and mentioned that there was no dispute. He informed that in the 36th FIVB World Congress, FIVB has approved the affiliation of VFL with S. Vasudevn as President and Ramavtar Singh Jakhar as Secretary General of VFI. Reiterating his stand, Hamza expressed happiness that out of 31 affiliated units of VFI, 29 men teams and 25 women are participating in this 67th Senior Nationals. Meanwhile, the Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir (VAJK), especially the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kuldeep Magotra while vindicating the stand of FIVB and AVC as also the IOA said that the VAJK always supported the S Vasudevan led VFI.
