STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Continuing its endeavours for welfare of womenfolk, the Inner Wheel Club (IWC) Jammu adopted 2 non-pensioner widows during a function held here under the leadership of Lalita Gupta. District Chairman IWC (Northern India), Rajni Negi was the Chief Guest on the occasion while Director Zila Sainik Board, Brig (Retd) Harcharan Singh; Founder Sehyog India, Dr Ashwani Jojra and Journalist Rampaul Dogra were the Guests of Honour. The function began with formal welcome of the Chief Guest and other dignitaries by IWC team followed by lighting of ceremonial lamp. While welcoming guests, Lalita Gupta highlighted the activities of the Inner Wheel Club. Secretary Reva Raina informed gathering about ongoing projects of the Club. On the occasion, new members were given formal memberships by the club. While speaking on the occasion, Rajni Negi expressed satisfaction on working of the club, which is not only helping womenfolk but also adopted some widows. She appreciated the efforts of Club made for the upliftment of womenfolk. Brig Harcharan Singh and Dr Ashwini Jojra also spoke on the occasion and lauded the initiatives of the Club for welfare of women. On the occasion, Rampaul Dogra presented some soulful Dogri songs which were highly applauded by the participants. Later, the club also felicitated some dignitaries on the occasion. The event culminated with singing of national anthem while formal vote of thanks was presented by IWC Vice-President.
