State Times NewsJAMMU: The Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir (VAJK) has hailed the victory of Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) by getting a green signal for conducting Indian Volleyball League independently in India. In the ongoing arbitration between promoters of Baseline Ventures (India) Private Limited and Volleyball Federation of India, Justice K. Kannan, former judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court, the Arbitrator gave a go ahead signal to Volleyball Federation of India (respondent) for conducting Indian Volleyball League at their own. Patron-in-chief VAJK, Raj Daluja, President, Sidharth Daluja, CEO and Association Secretary of VFI, Kuldip Magotra, Executive Vice President H.S Gill, General Secretary Vijay Magotra, Treasurer, R.C Sharma and Joint Secretary Mohd Tariq of VAJK have commended the untiring efforts of Ramavatar Singh Jakhar Secretary General Volleyball Federation of India, for resumption of the volleyball league in India wherein outstanding Indian/foreigner volleyball players shall display their latest skills of the game and make volleyball popular among the people across the nation in coming years. According to Jakhar, “The decision has vindicated the stand of Volleyball Federation of India for owning the conduct of the league without any impediments whatsoever by any private party.” With the commencing of Indian Volleyball League, the Indian players would get an opportunity to intermingle with foreigner volleyball players and learn the latest skills of game. Besides, outstanding Indian volleyball players/coaches who would be tipped for Indian volleyball league would get attractive cash incentives also. The Volleyball Federation of India in current lockdown period did not lag behind in updating the skills of players/coaches/referees all over the country with the cooperation of stakeholders Sports Authority of India/Ministry of Youth Services and sports, Government of India. The Volleyball Federation of India has conducted various online clinics and courses including webinars as per SOPs issued by the government from time to time. J&K outstanding players/coaches would be enriched in the arena of volleyball sports with their participation in the coming Indian Volleyball League in India. Not only this, their participation in the league would be a morale booster and a step forward in making them Atamanirbhar (self-reliant) a reality as advocated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the recent lockdown in the country.
