State Times NewsKathua: Regarding matter of illegal entry of passengers into J&K, the involved ASI and SPO have been suspended and a probe has been launched against DySP.A racket facilitating illegal entry of people into J&K from outside by taking money from them at Lakhanpur inter-state border terminal in the Union Territory’s Kathua district was unearthed and two police personnel, including an assistant sub-inspector (ASI), were arrested, officials said on Wednesday. Acting on complaints about police personnel on duty at Lakhanpur allowing people from outside to enter J&K illegally after taking money from them, a police team in civil dress caught red-handed a Special Police Official (SPO) on duty while he was seeking bribe from people for allowing them to enter Union Territory on Tuesday night, they told. An ASI was also arrested by police and both were taken to a Police Station for questioning, they added.An order of suspension of Incharge inspector has been issued and a probe against the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) has been launched, the officials said.Confirming the news, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Kathua Shailendra Mishra said that an ASI and SPO have been arrested and suspension of Incharge inspector has been ordered.
