STATE TIMES NEWS SRINAGAR: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar on Sunday visited Baramulla and Sopore Districts and reviewed the security situation. He was accompanied by DIG NKR Mohd Sulaiman Chaudhary and other senior officers of Army, CAPF and Armed Police. While interacting with the officials at District Police Office Baramulla, IGP reviewed the general security situation of the area and took stock of the preparedness and security arrangements for upcoming Republic Day celebrations. IGP Kashmir also discussed the security measures in place for forthcoming VIP visits. He stressed on the officers to ensure synergy and better coordination among the forces working at the ground level. He also urged upon the officers to strengthen the general security grid of the area and ensure peace in the area. At Sopore, IGP, while interacting with the officers from Army, Police & CAPF, discussed various security measures taken for maintenance of peace in the area. He stressed for enhanced coordination between different security forces deployed on ground. He said that department is keen to implement the measures taken for the welfare of the police officials and provide several other facilities which will help the officials to discharge their duties more efficiently.
