STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: To review local security and law and order situation in twin mountainous districts of Kishtwar and Doda, IGP Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh visited the districts during two-day long tour. Bhim Sen Tuti, DIG DKR Range; Mumtaz, SSP Doda; Harmeet Singh, SSP Kishtwar and other senior officers also accompanied the IGP. As part of his visit, IGP Jammu went around Kishtwar City to check ground-level deployment and asked the officers to maintain a strict vigil for foiling nefarious plans of anti-national and anti-social elements. During the visit, Mukesh Singh interacted with senior citizens including members of various communities living in both the districts and also met with officers of district police and army to take first-hand information on matters regarding local security. Additionally, Darbar of officers/ Jawans was also convened in District Police Lines. IGP Jammu deliberated on various issues related to law & order situation in the region. He listed to the grievances of locals and assured them of appropriate resolution. He further directed the district administration to take immediate steps to help citizens. As a part of the meeting, he asked citizens to assist police in curbing crime in the city and notify events related to drug-abuse and other social evils prevailing in the society. He further emphasized upon the need for police-public partnership groups to strengthen state-wide security measures besides ensuring overall peace and harmony.
