State Times NewsKISHTWAR: Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Mohammad Hanief Malik lead the Walkathon organised by Department of ICDS Kishtwar here to create awareness, as a part of the observation of Matru Vandana Saptah-2019 under Prime Minister Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY). The programme was attended by Supervisors, Health and Nutrition Mobilizers, Officers/officials from Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK), Anganwadi workers /helpers, officials from ICDS Kishtwar and other line departments. The walkathon was taken out from District Headquarter, Kishtwar, to promote the PMMVY and make people aware of its benefits. While speaking on the occasion, ADDC stated that the main objective behind organizing such programmes is to create mass awareness among the people regarding the benefits of the scheme. PMMVY District Cell ICDS Kishtwar, Anu Radha Parihar informed the participants that under this scheme, partial compensation of Rs. 5000/- in three installments of Rs.1000, 2000 and 2000 are provided to all eligible pregnant and lactating mothers who have their pregnancy on or after 01-01-2017 for the first child in the family. Head Assistant, DPO Office ICDS Kishtwar Hukum Chand, Health Mobilizer, Mohsin Lone Dealing Assistant PMMVY, Jabir Amin also spoke on the occasion and threw light on the same subject. Meanwhile, ADDC distributed trophies among the best performing officials under PMMVY, namely Shakila Begum from Project Kishtwar got first place, Akhtar Hussain from Project Drabshalla got second place besides District PMMVY unit Kishtwar got appreciation trophy.
