STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: A day after rumours regarding closure of petrol pumps and war like situation on borders was circulated on the social media, Jammu Police on Monday arrested a history sheeter, who circulated these rumours, which triggered panic in parts of the region. “We lodged an FIR and started the investigation soon after panic gripped the city,” Tejinder Singh, SSP Jammu told reporters. He said that reverse analysis was conducted and during course of investigation, 40 years old man identified as Yashveer Singh alias Badshah alias Don, resident of Khour area in Akhnoor sector was arrested, adding, “arrested person was a history sheeter and drug addict, and he was involved in spreading the rumours.” “If anybody forwards any information without verifying it, which triggers panic, will also face action,” he added and appealed to the public that any such information, which can create trouble must be shared responsibly and the police should be informed. SP Rural Suram Singh, SDPO Akhnoor Yogesh Sharma were also present in the press conference.
