STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: To commemorate India’s rich cultural past and to spread awareness about preserving and protecting country’s cultural heritage, an expert talk was held in the premises of Heritage School on Tuesday. The distinguished guest to grace the occasion and to enlighten the students with important information on the need to preserve our cultural heritage was Sindhu Kapoor. She is an Associate Professor in History, Higher Education Department J&K Govt. She is presently working as Co-ordinator, Honours and Integrated Course in Cultural History-Cluster University of Jammu. She sensitised the students about the importance of the World Heritage Day and her lecture included topics throwing light on the meaning and classification of heritage and preservation of the heritage of J&K emphasising on the need to preserve some of the local Heritage sites. She also extended her gratitude to the entire Heritage fraternity for organising this event and rendering her an opportunity to motivate the young students to become responsible citizens and respect their natural inheritance. The programme was an integral part of the week-long World Heritage Day celebration conducted by the school.
