Dear Editor,Through the columns of your esteemed paper I would like to highlight the burning issue of mis-management in government managed hospitals especially GMC Jammu that is proving to be death traps. The hollow claims of better management stand fully exposed when we find all VIPs from bureaucracy as well as politicians and even Principal of GMC rushing to private hospital preferably Narayana for their treatment particularly during this period of Corona pandemic. This has compelled me to post on FB that though FC Health is a very honest and intelligent officer, but has failed to set the things right in the department under his control. Subsequently taking the matter seriously UT administration has deployed Principal Secretary, Revenue Department, as Administrative Coordinator for all non-treatment related issues at Hospitals in Jammu besides ensuring adequate supply of oxygen and also resolve issues relating to hospital beds, doctor availability and ambulance availability. The concern of central team visiting to assess the prevailing scenario across the hospitals (as reported by print media) that those at the helm of affairs are playing with the lives of people by adopting non-serious approach has activated the Advisors to Lt Governor, who were till now on silent mode and deaf to the crises. One of the Advisor even paid a visit to GMC. This all points that sincerity of work is lacking in Health sector from top to down and they are not proving to be ‘Corona Warrior’ but attracting the wrath of public.Mahadeep Singh Jamwal,Udhampur.
