STATE TIMES NEWSLEH: Health sector requires a team of good doctors with adequate paramedic staff, lab technicians along with sophisticated machinery to provide basic healthcare benefits to patients. It was stated by Lieutenant Governor Ladakh R K Mathur during his visit to SNM Hospital Leh on Friday. He complimented the SNM Hospital Leh for winning Swachhta awards repeatedly. He also appreciated the dedication and spirit with which the entire staff at SNM hospital works to serve people. Mathur was accompanied by Commissioner/Secretary Ladakh Rigzin Samphel, Divisional Commissioner/Secretary Ladakh Saugat Biswas, and Deputy Commissioner Leh Sachin Kumar. The LG along with Director Health Dr Phunchok Angchuk accompanied by Chief Medical Officer Dr Tsering Motup, and Medical Superintendent Dr Tsering Samphel made a tour of hospital. Mathur visited wards and interacted with doctors on duty besides enquiring with the patients about their health and services rendered by the hospital staff. The doctors association, nurses, lab technicians, Councillor ICTC, FMPHW and other staff members highlighted a number of grievances and issues to LG through representations. Later, the LG Ladakh also visited ‘Jalzom Skit-tsal’- a daycare centre at SNM Hospital premises. Secretary District Legal Service Authority, Spalzes Angmo and Divisional Commissioner/ Secretary Ladakh, Saugat Biswas briefed the LG about the centre. He also interacted with senior citizens, who visited the centre during their leisure time. The senior citizens expressed happiness over the facilities provided by the center.
