STATE TIMES NEWS REASI: The Department of Environmental Science in collaboration with the Department of Botany, Govt. General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College Reasi (J&K) celebrated World Environment Day. The theme of this year was ‘Time For Nature’. A National level online quiz competition on the theme ‘Biodiversity of Jammu and kashmir’ was also organized in order to make students familiar with the biodiversity of J&K. Around 250 students participants from various institutions of higher learning of J&k UT and from other institutions like JNU, DU, IITs, NIT, Amity, Jamia, various Engineering and other colleges of India also participated. E-certificates shall be issued to participants who have qualified the quiz. Merit certificates shall be issued to participants at three merit positions. The event was organised by Dr. Anshu Gupta, Head department of Environmental Sciences (Convener), Dr. Anu Sharma, Head Department of Botany (co-convener), Aneet Singh, Lecturer in Environmental Sciences, Dr. Muzafar Akbar Rather, Lecturer in Botany under the noble guidance of Principal Dr. Chander Shekhar Gupta, GGZSM Degree College Reasi.
