STATE TIMES NEWSKATHUA: Department of Physical Education and Sports, Government Degree College (GDC) Mahanpur in collaboration with Indian Premier Academy of Sports Science and Physical Education and Foundation for Global Community Health (GCH), USA on Saturday conducted a global webinar on university sports management through Physical Education and Sports Science.The webinar started with formal introduction by Dr J.S Soodan, Physical Director & Organizing Secretary of global webinar.Welcome address was presented by Dr Rakseh Kumar Koul, Principal and Patron of webinar.The webinar inaugurated by Commissioner/Secretary Higher Education, Talat Parvez Rohella, who in his inaugural address stressed upon the promotion and need of physical education and sports science in a well planned manner into the school as well as college and university levels as per the New Education Policy of Government of India.He also congratulated the Principal GDC Mahanpur for organizing such global webinar and also appreciated the efforts of Organizing Secretary Dr J.S Soodan for coordinating and inviting international speakers to the event from countries like USA, Malaysia, Romania, Germany, Bulgaria, Saudi Arabia, Philippines and Turkey.Dr Daniel Dasheva, Professor, National Sports Academy and former Minister YA&S Bulgaria was the Guest of Honor.Yogender Choudhry, Additional Principal Secretary to CM Haryana and Principal Secretary YA&S, Government of Haryana was the Chief Guest. In his address, he showed the road map of Haryana Government for the upliftment of sports and sports science infrastructure in the state.Dr Gurdeep Singh, Former Secretary AIU and President IPASS&PE delivered lecture on university sports management through holistic approach by considering physical education as a mother and sports science as a soul. The inaugural session was moderated by Dr. J S Soodan.The International speakers Dr Kaukam Azeem, Saudi Arabia, spoke on Learning through Resistance Training, Dr Zornitza Mladenova Sofia Bulgaria on Holistic approach for distance learning during Pandemic, Dr Lim Boon Hooi, Malaysia on Incorporated Psychological Intervention for sports injury rehabilitation, Dr. Pinar Yaprak, Turkey on Managing University sports through Interdisciplinary contribution from sports science and Dr Emily Budoscue, Romania on issues in biomechanics and importance in sports.The Scientific session was chaired by Prof. V. Satyanarayana Osmania University. Among the moderators who were present include Dr. Jasbir Kaur, Assistant Director, Gurunanak College of Arts Commerce and Science, Dr Satinder Paul, Assistant Professor, ACPE Mastuana Sahib, Dr. Sunil Purohit, Central University of Rajasthan, Dr Pratibha Singh Ratnu, Assistant Director, University of Rajasthan Jaipur.Among the expert panelists were Dr Rajesh Kumar, University College OU, Dr. George Abhraham, Principal, YMCA, Chennai, Dr Ashok Kumar Department of Sports Science PUP. The representatives of Foundation for Global Communuty Health (GCH) Dr Zornitza presented President Dr. Ming Kai Chin message to the audience and International Council of Sports Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE) was represented by Detlef Dumon from Berlin Germany, who spoke on community participation in the development of Physical Education and Sports Science.Dr C P Singh, Director, LNIPE Gwalior presented vote of thanks to the dignatories, Speakers, Moderators and the participants.He thanked Dr J S Soodan (Organizing Secretary), Prof. Arvind, Prof Balbir and Sourabh Dutta (Chief Librarian) for organizing such a wonderful mega event.
