STATE TIMES NEWSBHADARWAH: Department of Zoology, Govt. Degree (Postgraduate) College Bhaderwah in association with J and K AIDS Control Society, Department of Health and Medical Education. Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir celebrates the International Youth Day-2020 on the theme ‘Youth engagement for Global Action’.The said programme was organised using digital platforms under the supervision of Principal GDC Bhaderwah, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Sharma, Who in his address to participants stated that this day is celebrated to recognize the importance and hard work of the youth mainly the students to contribute in the development of nation and society.The main activity that was held during the observance of programme includes the Painting competition around the theme blending it with the public health threats like HIV/AIDS, Drug De-addiction and Covid-19 Pandemic. The Programme was organised by Dr. Wahied Khawar Balwan, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, GDC Bhadarwah in association with Prof. Mansa Ram, Prof. BalKrishan and Prof. Ashwani Kumar of Zoology. Dr. Wahied Balwan in his address said that this year’s theme on international youth day is timely and appropriate at this period when our youths are restive and confrontational in their demands for policies that would make them fulfill their life purposes. Many students from the college participated in the event by submitting their paintings online and best paintings selected were of Divya Rathore, Umah-e-Rumman of B.Sc. Semester 4th and Maimoona Sheikh of B.Sc. Semester 6th. All the participants were provided e-certificates.
