STATE TIMES NEWS KATHUA: The Ek Bharat, Sreshtha Bharat(EBSB) Club of Govt. Degree College for Women Kathua celebrated the Matribhasha Diwas in its campus on 22-02-2020 to commemorate the International Mother Language day : a day dedicated to promote the awareness of linguistic ,cultural diversity and multilingualism. The program was graced by Dr. Y.P. Kundal, worthy Principal GDCW Kathua who was the chief guest on this wonderful occasion. Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Kundal emphasized on maintaining the cultural heritage of India by giving respect to the Mother Tongue. He reiterated the rich linguistic diversity of the country and called upon the audience and the participant students to feel proud of our own mother tongue to maintain the tradition. This was followed by symbolic lightening event by the chief guest, Prof Umesh Kailoo, Prof Ravinder Kour Nodal Officer EBSB),Dr Arun Dev Singh( Club Coordinator EBSB).The program was witnessed the different performances displayed by some of the students from different departments of languages; the students recited poems, read nazms, presented chorus and exhibited their different views on the importance of Matribhasha The welcome address was presented by Prof Naresh Kumar and the program proceeded by Dr Vaishno Devi & Ms Tripti. The vote of thanks was presented by Mr Rakesh Kumar. Earlier,a book exhibition was installed on different languages for the college students whom Dr. Y.P. Kundal addressed and briefed regarding the importance of studying of matribhasha which imbibe the true spirit among the students.
