STATE TIMES NEWSGANDERBAL: To inculcate and promote sports spirit among the youth and build healthy police-public relations, besides taking forward youth friendly policing initiative particularly in rural areas, Ganderbal Police under aegis of Civic Action Programme (CAP) organized a volleyball tournament-2020 in collaboration with Kangan Sports Association at Government Higher Secondary School, Kangan.In the opening ceremony, a volleyball match was played between Kangan Seniors and Kangan Juniors which was won by Kangan Juniors.Additional SP Ganderbal Feroz Yehya accompanied by SDPO Kangan, SHO Police Station Kangan and other officials were present.Besides, President Traders Union Kangan, President Kangan Cricket Board (KCB), respectable citizens and sports lovers of the area witnessed the opening ceremony of the Volleyball tournament.These sports tournaments are organised by District Police Ganderbal under Civic Action Programme to explore the talent/capability of youth to prove themselves, Additional SP Ganderbal said while addressing the gathering.Further, he said that sports is the best way to channelize energy of youth in a positive manner.Community members and youth of the area appreciated the efforts of Ganderbal police and expressed hope that police will provide them a similar platform in future to showcase their talents.
