JAMMU: Jammu Kashmir Female Multipurpose Health Workers’ Welfare (FMPHWs) Association, Jammu province observed strike and held a protest rally on 12th consecutive day from the Office of Director Health Jammu to press for its demand of permanent solution of Salary Head 2211.
Led by Neelam Kumari, President, FMPHWs Welfare Association, the protesting employees were raising anti-Government slogans for not fulfilling their long pending demands including permanent solution of salary head 2211, release of pending salaries, delinking the CSS salary from the funding sources (Corpus-delinking), release of pending salary, fixation of job functions of FMPHWs at par with other working categories of health sector, up gradation of the post of FMPHW on the analogy of Pharmacist, Lab Tech X-Ray Tech, Dental Tech and Ophth Tech etc.
They also demanded creation of post of LHVs in new PHCs, publication of seniority list of FMPHWs in the official website of the Health Department for bringing transparency in promotions, 50 per cent quota to be allotted in favour of trained LHVs at par with MMPHSs promoted as Health Educators and amendment of SRO 20 dated April 20, 1992 which is pending in the Administrative Department for last 27 yrs.
A mass rally of workers started from Director Health Service Complex Jammu which after passing through Indira Chowk, Raghunath Bazar, City Chowk returned back to the protest venue.
Prominent who took part in the protest included Neelam Kumari, Surya Akhter, Sapna Gupta, Kamlesh, Jeevan Jyoti, Kuldeep Kour, Jagjeet Kour, Nirmal Kour, Gayatri Devi, Varinder Kour, Jagbir Kour, Manjeet Kour, Pooja Devi, Shashi Bala, Anchal Devi, Kamla Devi, Soma Devi, Pushpa Devi, Rani Devi, Urmil Devi, Mamta Devi, Sunita Devi, Vinod Sharma, Parfulat Singh, Harpal Singh, Tajinder Singh, Yougal Bakshi, Madan Sharma and Vishal Patil.
