STATE TIMES NEWS SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan on Friday directed concerned district officers to complete pending developmental works of Srinagar district on double shift basis. The Divisional Commissioner made these directions while chairing the district level meeting here to review developmental scenario of Srinagar district. He also directed the concerned to procure labour force from outside and camp them on construction sites with proper boarding and security to achieve the desired results. The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar was asked to conduct surprise checks of government offices to ensure cent percent attendance of employees. It was informed that 93 languishing projects of R&B, PHE, I&FC, Industries & Commerce, Agriculture, Higher Education, PDD, Health, Education and other departments are under execution in Srinagar, at an approved cost of Rs 883.64 crores. The meeting was also informed that 172 works proposed under Back-to-Village Programme in 21 Panchayat Halqas are under execution at an estimated cost of Rs 11.05 crore. The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary, SSP Srinagar, Executive engineers of PHE, R&B, PDD and other concerned officers.
