STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: The State Government on Monday constituted the eight-member Police Recruitment Board for making selection of eligible candidates against the posts of Constables of two Women Battalions. “Sanction is hereby accorded to the constitution of the Police Recruitment Board, comprising the following, for making selection of eligible candidates against the posts of Constable of two Women Battalions, created vide Government Order No. 52-Home of 2019 dated January 17, 2019, through a Transparent Recruitment Process (TRP),” reads the order issued by Shaleen Kabra, Principal Secretary, Home Department.
The Board will be headed by Danesh Rana, IGP Armed Jammu as its Chairman while Rayees Mohammad Bhat, AIG (Tech), PHQ, Rashmi Wazir, Commandant- SDRF 2nd Bn, Firdous Iqbal, Commandant, JKAP-14th Bn, Mamta Sharma, ASP, CIJ, CID, Rohini Manhas, CPO Traffic Rural, Jammu, Shazia Akhter, DySP, CID SB Rajouri, Peerzada Aijaz Ahmad, DySP, JKAP 5th Bn will be its Members.
“The recruitment to the posts of Constables will be made strictly in accordance with the procedure and the guidelines of Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, conveyed vide communication No. 13030/1/2018-KTI(pt) dated June 13, 2018 through a transparent Recruitment Process(TRP) and the recruitment process shall be completed within three months from the date of issue of this order,” the order stated and added, “The recruitment restrictions in aforesaid Battalions shall be limited to the posts of Constables only.”
“The aforesaid Police Recruitment Board shall strictly supervise/oversee/monitor the first three phases of recruitment (viz. Physical Endurance Test, Physical Measurement Tests and Written Test), for making selection of candidates against the posts of Constables for two women battalions, which shall be filled through the TRP, after observing all procedural and codal formalities as prescribed by the Government,” the order further stated.
“At the time of undertaking recruitment, at least half of the strength of the aforesaid Board shall be reckoned as quorum for purposes of recruitment, however, the Chairman of the Police Recruitment Board shall always be part of the aforesaid quorum, except in emergent situations in which case(s), the Chairman shall nominate the senior-most Member to be part of the aforesaid quorum,” the order added.
