STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Advocate Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor on Monday laid the foundation stone for the renovation of Shauchalaya near Heritage Gate of Mubarak Mandi in Ward No. 01. Along with Deputy Mayor, Arun Gupta (XEn), R.K. Koul (JE) Bhuvneshwar Singh, Varinder, Shubh Lata Sharma (Satwari Mandal Adhyaksh), Anuradha Sharma (President Ward No. 1), Verinder Verma, Rohit Bajrangi, Madhav Singh Thakur, Sunita Wazir (Mandal Secretary), Vandana Tehar (District Secretary), Gopal, Sukh Devi, Kamala Devi, Veena Devi, all BJP Booth Presidents of Ward No. 1 and other prominent citizens were also present. The estimated amount allotted for the renovation work of the Shauchalaya is Rs 10.5 lakh. The renovated structure will include 2 toilets for men, 2 toilets for women, 1 bathroom and 1 caretaker room and will be constructed by Sulabh Agency. It was the long pending demand of the locals and shopkeepers brought to the notice of Deputy Mayor. The Deputy Mayor directed the officials to make sure that the whole renovation work should be completed within the stipulated time and the quality of the work should be up to the mark. The Assistant Executive Engineer assured Deputy Mayor that her directions will be followed and the work will be up to the mark.
