STATE TIMES NEWS DRASS: Durbuk Shyok Club Red (DSC Red) won the Durbuk Ice Hockey Challenge competition organised by trophy Patiala Brigade of the Fire & Fury Corps at the Durbuk Ice Hockey Rink in Eastern Ladakh from December 7 to 13, 2019. Undertaken as a ‘Sadbhavana’ initiative, ten local Ice Hockey teams participated in the competition which was conducted on league-cum-knockout basis. In the final played on December 13, Durbuk Shyok Club Red (DSC Red) defeated Sachukul A team. The players were felicitated by Commander Patiala Brigade who complimented all the participants for the very standard of skill displayed during the entire championship. “Indian Army has been actively promoting local sports in the remote areas of Ladakh, with an aim to provide the youth of the region a platform to showcase their sporting talent,” he said. “Young men and women from this region have gone on to participate in events at the national and international levels,” he added.
