Accused arrested; both sons absconding
STATE TIMES NEWSKATRA: A man manhandled and opened fire on his elder brother over property dispute in Katra town on Saturday afternoon. The victim, however, escaped with minor brushes and managed to flee to safety.As per the details, Gandarb Singh, resident of Channi Himmat, Jammu along with his son Karan Singh went to Katra to construct a boundary wall on their piece of land at Katra. In the meantime, his elder brother Manohar Singh along with his two sons Bhanu Pratap Singh (serving in CRPF) and Aryan Pratap Singh, all residents of Katra, entered into verbal duel with Gandarb and his son Karan. They also attacked and manhandled Gandarb Singh.Later, on the directions of Manohar Singh, CRPF personnel Bhanu gave 12-bore gun to Aryan and ordered him to shot Gandarb and Karan. As the gun shots missed the target, both father-son managed to flee from the spot.Gandarb Singh approached Katra police and lodged a complaint against Manohar and his sons. Acting on the compliant, Police registered FIR and took Manohar into custody while a manhunt has been launched to nab Bhanu and Aryan Pratap Singh, who are absconding after the incident. Police said, we have sounded alert and strict action will be taken against the culprits. Katra police has also informed the CRPF Group Centre, Ban Talab about the incident as one of the absconder Bhanu Pratap Singh is serving in CRPF.
