State Times News AKHNOOR: Police on Tuesday nabbed a drug peddler and recovered 3 Kg Charas from his possession. As per the details, a party of Police Post Chowki Choura led by SI Ankuj Bhagat during Naka checking at Chowki Choura, intercepted one person who was going towards Bhambla on foot carrying a plastic bag after alighting from a vehicle ahead of Naka. Noticing such behaviour and suspicious gestures, the said person was asked to stop, but he ignored and tried to escape from the spot. The police acted swiftly and apprehended the said person. On questioning he disclosed his name as Mohammad Asif, son of Bhag Hussain, resident of Jabrian, Kotedhara Tehhsil and District Rajouri. On frisking, about 3 Kg of Charas like substance was recovered from his possession which he has concealed in the aforesaid plastic bag. A case vide FIR No 93/2020 under Sections 8, 20 NDPS Act was registered against him at Police Station Akhnoor. Police team led by SI Ankuj Kumar In-Charge Police Post Chowki Choura made the arrest/recovery under the supervision of Ajay Sharma, SDPO Akhnoor and SHO Police Station Akhnoor and under the close supervision of Suram Singh SP Rural Jammu and under the overall supervision of Shridhar Patil, SSP Jammu.
