JAMMU: Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) Trikuta Nagar Branch organised a blood donation camp as part of their Annual Seva Programme in the premises of Government Gandhi Nagar Hospital Jammu.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr S.K Bali, HoD Nephrology Super Specialty Hospital Jammu. Large numbers of donors volunteered to donate blood.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Bali appealed to people of the State for coming forward and donating blood voluntarily to enrich blood banks which are currently struggling to cope-up the rising demand of blood in city centric and territory health centres.
He urged people to understand the significance of sufficient blood stocks in the blood banks of hospitals considering the strategic location of Jammu and Kashmir which is being marred with hostile neighbouring country’s aggression as well as internal turbulence on account of terrorism.
With the wholehearted cooperation of Dr. Madhuri Slathia Superintendent, Dr. Arun Sharma, Dr. Gurdip Singh Jamwal and their staff members, the whole process of blood donation was accomplished smoothly and in time.
The camp was attended by Amita Sharma, Prant President BVP J and K, Ashok Khajuria Chairman Prant Seva, P.L Saraf President BVP Trikuta Nagar unit, Sunita Gupta Secretary, R.C Khullar Cashier, Madhu Gupta, Rajesh Gupta, K.R Gupta, Vinod Gupta and Dimple Mehra.
