STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Director General, Sports Authority of India (SAI), Sandip Pradhan on Tuesday felicitated Indian Wushu team for the excellent performance in the Star League Cup 2019, Shanghai Cooperation Organization Wushu Championship held at Langzhong in China. Indian team remained overall second in the medals tally with one gold, five silver and one bronze medals in the championship. The gold medal was secured by Mukesh Choudhary defeating Pakistan and China in the final and semifinals respectively. The silver medalists were Sunil Singh, Vikrant Baliyan, Ravi Panchal, Suraj Yadav, Mahipal Singh and bronze medal was won by Uchit Sharma. Director General SAI congratulated the medal winners and the coaches for the excellent performance in the championship and wished best of luck for the 15th World Wushu Championship to be held at Shanghai from October, 17 to 24, 2019. The team was headed by Kuldeep Handoo (National Chief Coach) and Rajesh Kumar Tailor (coach). The President and the General Secretary of the Wushu Association of India, Bhupender Singh Bajwa and Suhel Ahmed respectively congratulated team India. The office bearers of Wushu Association of J&K, Vijay Saraf (President), Ranjeet Kalra (Senior Vice President), Deepak Handa (Vice Presiodent), Gotam Gupta (Vice President), Sunil Sharma, Sohit Sharma and General Secretary Bhavneet congratulated the Indian team and the coaches for the fabulous performance.
