Er. P.L.KhushuThis post has reference to an article written by esteemed Professor Hari Om, in the STATE TIMES edition of 7th of August giving reference to some alleged deplorable and condemnable comments made by some Kashmiri Pandit writer in some daily news paper of Jammu some days back about our great late Maharaja Hari Singh. Before preceding further I most sincerely and objectively in my capacity as a responsible Kashmiri Pandit condemn and deplore such a statement of somebody linked to Kashmiri Pandit community. I affirm and believe as also convey on behalf of my community members who are competently distinguished and well read that our great Maharaja Hari Singh was a great human being, a warrior and an intellectual who cared very much for this minuscule community of ours. During his ruler ship it is the Pandits who were given posts of position and authority. The Jagir’s acquired by Pandits during the great Dogra rulers right from Maharaja Pratap Singh to Maharaja Hari Singh were snatched away in a matter of moments after the exit of the great Maharaja Hari Singh from his ruler ship. If someone speaks ill and sordid about him he or she are doing it to their disasters, (Bad Karmas), thus deplorable as per the theory and philosophy of ‘Karmas’.But I equally request Professor Hari Om, that such atrocious remarks of a single person be not attributed to the entire community. It will be unfair and irreligious. Kashmiri Pandits scattered across the globe and those living in Jammu after the onslaught of terrorism in Kashmir having lost almost everything got a humane space and shelter in Jammu, from the people of Jammu, for which every Kashmiri Pandit dead or alive is thankful and will remain thankful till the existence of universe. I am referring to universe, as it is a universal fact. If somebody distorts it for some obvious reasons and interests, it cannot be applied to the whole community. That will amount to sow the seeds of dissension between the noble people of Jammu and the Kashmiri Pandits who are presently migrants in their own country. Let us save the situation and point out such culprits and disown them from society. These ignoble remarks have come from an individual and not any representative body of Kashmiri Pandits, when there are so many such bodies of Kashmiri Pandits working presently for their resettlement in the valley. Any action adverse to the law of the land or society has always two dimensions. One is who commits such an action and the other is who abets it. A Kashmiri Pandit making such an ignoble statement is fundamentally responsible for it, but the one who publishes it in the newspaper and not being a Kashmiri Pandit, can easily be called as its abettor. So it is a tale of misfortune for all of us, when it is abetted through the columns of a news paper belonging to a person from Jammu. We may have to put in enough courage to ridicule both. One part is writing, the other part of it is its publishing. Should slander and slang be allowed to be published? Whose responsibility is it? It is a million dollar question. So the famous proverb fits in here. “It takes two to make a quarrel”.Kashmiri Pandits have a lot of love and respect for Jammu and its developments too. I would draw the kind attention of Professor Hari Om, to my articles in this regard published by the STATE TIMES just during the last one and a half months in regard to various problems of Jammu. Please refer the following articles written by me about Jammu, which are captioned as :-
(1), “Delimitation in J & K with 2011, Census, dated, 19th June- 2020”. (2), “Neglect of Jammu, A dissection, dated, 27th of June-2020”. (3), “Ignored Tourism potential of Jammu dated, 1st August 2020”. (4), “Article 370 & Ram Mandir-A Dream Come True, dated 5th August”.Prof. Hari Om is requested to go through these articles in depth and feel that a Kashmiri Pandit writer is equally concerned about the development of Jammu.I quote some paras from various such articles. But the real import of the crux of these articles will come when these are read in their totality.1.”Delimitation in J & K with 2011, Census, dated, 19th June- 2020″. :- “Jammu division of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir deserves proper representation in the assembly seat share and in the parliamentary seat share. Similarly Jammu division has suffered a lot for its proper development for last four decades, on account of lesser allocation of funds for various development projects, which is based on the population of the regions, which has always been undermined for Jammu. The people of Jammu may not suffer again if not by design but by default. For this purpose, the newly appointed Delimitation Commission is requested to adopt some scientific and convincing methodology in respect of assessing the real population of Jammu division. Even for the census of 2021, precautionary measures need to be ensured for conducting of 2 per cent post enumeration check”.
