STATE TIMES NEWS SAMBA: District Development Commissioner Samba Sushma Chauhan on Saturday held a detailed meeting with Sarpanchs of district samba to discuss the Water Security Plan devised for Samba district. The water security plan formulated by Public Health Engineering (PHE) samba division was presented before the sarpanches by XEn PHE. It was informed that the water security plan envisages 100 per cent coverage with regard to availability of drinking water to all habitants of villages of Samba shall be made available through different sources including surface water, new tube wells, new Dug wells and others. The existing infrastructure shall be upgraded, improvement of water distribution network shall be undertaken and lying of new water pipes besides creating new sump tanks is also included in water security plan. In the meeting the draft water security plan was circulated among all the sarpanches present in the meeting for their valuable feedback and suggestions for incorporating them in the final water security plan. The water security plan shall be submitted to the administrative department for further approval. Later all Sarpanches of District Samba were also sensitised about the newly rolled out plan ‘Back to Villages’ aimed at strengthening the panchayati raj institutions in district Samba. Sarpanchs of District Samba appreciated the steps taken by district administration samba to include the grass root level institutions in formulation of plans and policies and hailed its significance in further planning and implementation. During the meeting Chief Planning Officer Samba Sukhleen Kour, Executive Engineer Public Health Engineering Ajay Kumar Gupta besides all sarpanches of District samba were also present.
