STATE TIMES NEWSSAMBA: District Development Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria reviewed the progress achieved under various central sponsored schemes implemented by Rural Development Department, here at a meeting. Chief planning officer, Sukhleen Kour; District Panchayat officer, Piyush Dhotra; Block development officers; officers from rural engineering wing and other district and field officers of Rural Development department attended the meeting. Giving details of achievements under Central sponsored schemes, District Panchayat Officer informed that under Border area development plan works of Rs 32.35 lakhs were carried out. The works taken up under 14th F.C plan and model village schemes were also deliberated. The meeting was further informed that under ‘Back to Village’ programme Rs 3 Crore were sanctioned in the district, of which development works to the tune of Rs 2.14 crore were completed, while rest of the works are going on. District Development commissioner directed the concerned officer to expedite the development works in the district and submit the reports on completed works in his office. The DDC asked for completing the works under Back to village programme within the set timeline. He said needs of each Panchayat be prioritised according to the fund availability. He laid emphasis upon active involvement of representatives of PRIs in execution of development plans. Meanwhile, the DDC directed the block development officers to immediately start development works which are still pending and submit weekly report in his office.
