STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Sushma Chauhan on Friday sensitised the media fraternity about government’s ambitious initiative ‘Back to Village’ Phase -II. She told reporters that the programme is being organized from 25th to 30th of November, 2019 across all 305 Panchayats in the district. DC emphasized upon the participants to objectively highlight the broad contours of this ambitious programme and ensure wide publicity to the event so that the real purpose of the unique event is met in all its shapes. Specifying the objective of the programme, Deputy Commissioner said that Back to Villages Phase -II will focus on energizing panchayats, specific economic potential and undertaking assessment of needs of the villages besides assessing that the individual beneficial schemes should reach to the people, focusing on doubling the income of farmers and assessing the benefits of last Back to Village programme held in June this year. She said the programme will involve the people of the Union Territory and government officers/officials in a joint effort to deliver the mission of equitable development across all our rural areas.
