STATE TIMES NEWSSamba: Leaders of Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray Jammu and Kashmir unit on Thursday staged a protest over the growing incidence of rape in the country.Dozens of Shiv Sainiks, led by party President Manish Sahni, staged a massive protest against the rising the rape incidents and hastiness shown by the UP police over the cremation of the victim in Hathras and Balrampur in UP.Sahni said that it has been more than 70 years since the country was liberated, but even today there is an atmosphere of insecurity among the daughters of the nation. Those who commit abominable crimes like rape should be hanged at the crossroad. He said that the incidents of cruelty against women in UP increasing every year. The law and order has completely fallen out and the Chief Minister Yogi has proved to be a complete failure.While criticizing the media being stopped for covering the cremation of the victim, Sahni said that the dictatorship is being imposed on media too. At the same time, Meenakshi Chibber, President of the Party Women’s Wing, said that in the year 2019 there were more than 300 incidents of obscenity with women, while citing the NCRB report that 11 rape cases are reported daily in UP and less than 20% of the accused could be punished.Gen Secretary Vikas Bakshi , Working President Ashwani Gupta , Secretary Raj Singh , Romesh Gupta , Vijay Manwal, Raju Salaria and many other leaders were present.
