JAMMU: Principal Sessions Judge Samba M A Chowdhary rejected bail applications of Aqib Ahmed and Hashim Rasool, from whose possessions Samba police has recovered 4,000 bottles of Corex.While rejecting bail application, Court after hearing Public Prosecutor Jawed Ahmed Khawaja observed that offence of which applicants have been accused, on conviction carries minimum sentence of 10 years imprisonment which may extend to 20 years imprisonment and fine of Rs 2 lakh, given to severity of punishment, the offence is serious in nature. Otherwise also, the menace of trade and use of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substance has become alarming to society in general and young generation in particular. This menace requires to be curbed with a heavy hand as it is eating into vitals of the polity. With these observations, the court rejected the bail applications of both accused.
