STATE TIMES NEWSR S PURA: A protest was held by the Congress Party at R.S. Pura under the leadership of Ch. Mohan Singh, Sr. Congress Leader, Suchetgarh (Vice President, DCC, Jammu Rural) against the Anti Farmers Bills – Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, The Farmers Areement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, and The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill 2020 passed by the Centre Govt.A large number of farmers and Congress workers participated in the protest. While addressing the farmers Ch. Mohan Singh said that the recent farms bills passed by the centre Govt are anti farmers as the Minimum Support Price (MSP) has not been set by the govt. in these bills. He said that the Modi Govt. has become a puppet of Bigwigs of the Corporate Sector. He said that Introducing the corporate sector in the agriculture sector will crush the small farmers.He said that the bills say that if any dispute occurs between the farmer and the corporate sector, the farmers will be debarred from knocking the doors of the court of law which is the most depressing note of the bills. He flayed the centre govt. for crushing the interests of farmer community who is the backbone of India’s economy. He requested the Hon’ble President of India to reject these anti farmers’ bills.The protesters raised slogan against the centre govt and also burnt the effigy of the govt. Others who were present on the occasion were:Naib Sarpanch Kiran Kumar, Subedar Bachan Lal, Bhupinder Singh, Jeet Raj, Panch Thoru Ram, Gurdyal Singh, Ch. Sheri Ram, Romesh Lal, Sham Lal, Chamel Singh, Panch Waryam Lal and others.
