CHATROO: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori accused PDP and BJP of being only interested in retaining power and vowed to fight for rights of the people against forces inimical to the unity and integrity of the state.
Addressing the various public meetings at Bonda, Mullar, Pahalgwar, Changam, Parna, Chingam areas of sub-division Chatroo, Saroori said, “PDP-BJP coalition has time and again proved that their interests lie only in keeping their chair safe. What people of the State are going through in terms of turmoil-ridden security scenario, massacres, non-availability of essential commodities is something they are hardly bothered with”.
Saroori lambasted the PDP and BJP for befooling and exploiting the religious and regional sentiments of people for political gains but now they have taken U-turn on all those issues and slogans. The people of rural and far flung areas are suffering because of the failures of the present state and centre government policy. He also criticised to the approach of the present government towards SCs/STs in the State who are being deprived of their rights extended to them by the previous government due to efforts of Congress party.
Saroori at a function held at Mullar and Chingam areas to welcome Senior PDP leader Akhtar Hussain Butt and Senior BJP leader Shri Chaman Lal into Congress party along with their hundreds of supporters.
Congress senior leaders including Haji Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, Altaf Hussain Malik, Haji Ghulam Mohd Kohli, Haji Noor Din, Bashir Ahmed, Ghulam Hussain, Mohd Akbar, Mohd Ahad and others welcomes the newly entrants and hoped that with their joining Congress will get further strengthened at the grass roots level.
Prominent among those who joined Congress along with Chaman Lal included Ghulam Qadir Butt, Maqbool Hussain, Ghulam Mohd, Chowdhary Dullah,Abdul Rashid, Mohd Akbar, Mohd Irfan, Ghulam Ahmed, Mohd Owais, Ghulam Hussain, Raj Kumar, Chunni Lal, Bansi Lal, Sunil Kumar, Ratan Lal, Soroup Chand, Ashok Kumar, Kunj Lal, Des Raj, Somnath, Roshan Lal, Premnath, Lasman Das, and other workers.
