City Club to face Udhampur in final today

UDHAMPUR: City Volleyball Club shall meet Udhampur Volleyball Club in the final of 32nd District Udhampur Volleyball Championship being organized by District Udhampur Volleyball Association under the aegis of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir (VAJK) at mini stadium, here.
Earlier, in the semifinal matches played on second day on Thursday, City Volleyball Club outplayed Chiryai Volleyball Club by straight 2-0 (25-22, 25-16) and Udhampur Volleyball Club defeated Malhar Volleyball Club by straight 2-0 (25-15, 25-18) sets.
In league match, Malhar Volleyball Club defeated Rown Volleyball Club by straight 2-0 (25-22, 25-17) sets.
The championship, in which nine team in men section from all all nook and corner of the district are participating, was declared open by the Chief Guest, Sargun Shukla, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udhampur.
The Chief Guest highlighted the importance of sports and expressed that sports develop sense of team work, physical fitness and discipline among the youth. She added that sports also boost the immunity which is the need of the hour.
Other results: Udhampur Volleyball Club defeated Ramnagar Volleyball Club by 2-0 (25-18, 25-20) sets; Chiryai Volleyball Club beat Dhanori Volleyball Club by 2-0 (25-14, 25-13) sets; City Volleyball Club trounced Libral Volleyball Club by 2-0 (25-22, 27-25) sets.
In the final match, Mohd Khalid Khan, Commandant 137 Bn CRPF shall be the Chief Guest and Shaktish Chopra Manager District Sports Council Udhampur shall be the Guest of Honour.
