State Times NewsJAMMU: A meeting of Channi Himmat Residents Association (CHRA) was held on Saturday under the chairmanship of its President Advocate V.K Grover in which the members expressed anguish over the continuous failure of UT Administration in putting a moratorium on large scale encroachments of public property including roads, especially main roads in Channi Himmat Housing Colony causing traffic jams and grooming of anti-social elements in this peaceful and serene atmosphere of this posh colony.“Some vehicle mechanics as also vegetable vendors have encroached upon main roads in the colony and that too very near to the police station causing lot of suspicion in the eyes of inhabitants and residents vis-à-vis role of law enforcing authorities in the area,” Grover said.The illegal encroachments causing traffic jams as also lot of inconvenience to the pedestrians including children and senior citizens, he added and said a prompt and expeditious action under law is urgently required to be taken against these defaulters including booking them for such illegal encroachments.
