It is not new for China to be at loggerheads. After Doklam, China has been disturbing peace in the border area on the false alibi that the Indian troops have undertaken activity across the LAC in western sector or the Sikkim sector. China’s expansionist ambition is the constant bug-bear for the border nations.
China had attacked Vietnam when the former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee was on his visit to China. Vajpayee returned immediately without initiating any dialogue with China in protest against attack on Vietnam. While India is committed to peace and tranquility, there is commitment to safeguard the sovereignty and security of the nation also. India has rightly rejected the charge of Indian troops crossing the LAC. China is said to be hindering the normal patrolling process, according to the MEA spokesperson Anurag Srivastava. The UNSC, of which China is a permanent member, has remained insensitive at the disturbance created in the border areas. All four permanent members of the UNSC do not have any major issues with their border countries. But China is like odd nation out in the company of four other countries in UNSC.
