State Times News KATHUA: The Chief education officer Kathua T.R Mangotra on Saturday held a meeting with Principals, Zonal Education Officers and Headmasters of government schools from 6 education zones at HSS Mahanpur and sensitized them about Right to Education Act besides other schemes of education department. The heads of Institutions from 6 educational zones viz Bhaddu, Billawar, Malhar, Mahanpur, Basohli and Bani attended the meeting. On the onset of the meeting the CEO had introduction of all Heads of Institutions and apprised them of all interventions of the Department of Education in which various administrative and academic issues were discussed. On the occasion the CEO told the gathering that due to abrogation of article 370, Right to Education is fully implemented in the Union Territory, now. While explaining about highlights of the act, he urged them to follow and implement the act in the schools whole heartedly so that students can be benefitted to the maximum. Besides this, other schemes launched by the department and directorate as well, were discussed in the meeting and he also sought suggestions from those present in the meeting. The Chief Education officer also directed the heads of Institutions to identify separate space for counselling activities for the students. During the meeting, the Minutes of Meeting in which directions issued by the Director of School education Jammu were passed on to all the HoIs of 6 zones to speed up the quality initiatives at school level. All the HoIs were impressed upon to ensure the basic minimum facilities viz Electricity, Water, toilets, sanitation and hygiene at school level. The Chief Education requested them to work whole heartedly for the benefits of students so that initiatives of the government can be fruitful.
