State Times NewsPOONCH: Chief Agriculture Officer, Poonch Arvind Baru along with District Agriculture 0fficer ( Ext) Poonch Ajaz Ahmed Kohli and Apiculture Development Assistant Jasbir Singh Kohli visited Apiculture Demonstration Centre at Saikloo. They inspected the bee colonies in the apiary and Chief Agriculture officer appreciated the work of Jasbir Singh Kohli, ADA and his team for efficient management of bee colonies. After taking thorough review of availability of bee flora in the area and coming winter season Chief Agriculture officer instructed for migration of apiary to Bagnoti area of district Rajouri within a week’s time Positively. DAO( Ext)stressed for adopting better management practices during lean period in winter including winter packing of bee colonies, periodic inspection of bee colonies and maintaining proper food storage in each colony,Chief Agriculture 0fficer also advised for promoting Apiculture in different areas of the district in order to boost honey production by taping the vast flora available during spring season and providing employment opportunity to local youth in the district.
