STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Two-day special Yoga Prashikshan Shivir (camp), organised by the Bhartiya Yoga Sansthan (BYS), concluded here on Sunday. The camp was conducted from May 18 to 19 for Yoga Adhikaris and Yoga Trainers of the State. About 200 Yoga Adhikaris and Yoga Trainers drawn from different Yoga Centers and Zones of Jammu, Samba and Udhampur participated in the camp. Yoga Acharya Des Raj, General Secretary, Bhartiya Yoga Sansthan, New Delhi was the guiding force behind the camp. Mayor JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta was the Chief Guest during the valedictory function, who was formally welcomed by Satya Pal, President Bhartiya Yoga Sansthan Jammu. Speaking on the occasion, Satya Pal said that Chander Mohan Gupta is a Yoga lover and is associated with Sansthan from quite a long time. Terming Chander Mohan as a hard working person, Satya Pal said that he has retained his down to earth profile even after his elevation as the Mayor and very few people have such qualities. Sansthan has always received a lot of support from him, for which Sansthan shall remain highly thankful to him, he added. Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta, in his address, said that Bhartiya Yoga Sanasthan is doing a wonderful service by conducting free Yoga classes throughout the country and thousands attend these classes on daily-basis. This, he said, is due to blessings of the God on the organisation and on volunteers, who are the driving force of the organisation. Lucky are the people whom God has provided the opportunity to serve humanity, he said. He further suggested that Sanasthan should explore opening some centers at Srinagar also, so that people can take advantage of Yoga. He assured the General Secretary BYS that all possible support shall be provided to the Sansthan in this regard.
